Cats, the musical!
I watched Cats yesterday. It’s a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber – you know, the guy who wrote Phantom of the Opera? Anyway, the Cats people came over to Hong Kong and put on a few shows, and I went and watched it
I caught the last show, too.
It was simply amazing! I sat on the fourth row from the front, near the aisle, and cats actually came. I patted one, well that was fun. The most famous song in the musical, Memory, was so emotional – sung by a cat, and it was so emotional! I still can’t get over the fact that it was sung LIVE. It sounded like a recording, honest.
I’m going to watch Phantom of the Opera in West End, where it was originally played, a week or so later. The tickets were expensive as hell to buy, and originally my parents thought they’d sold out – luckily, they visited another site and found that there were seats still available in the Royal Circle (Dress Circle). Has anyone (hehe, Sher!) ever been to watch POTO there? Any things to look out for? I’ve watched the film about five times now so I’m pretty familiar with the storyline. I CAN’T WAIT.
The video for 21 Guns (a song by Green Day) came out today (or yesterday, to be exact; it’s awhile past midnight now) and, to be honest, it was slightly underwhelming… I still prefer the videos on AI so much more. I love all the bullets and effects and how it portrayed the album’s two main characters (it’s a sort-of concept album, you see), but… I expected more, I suppose. I expected the walls to crash down. I expected Green Day to break everything. But uh… didn’t happen.
I just realised what a busy week I’m having…
Tue: Get books from locker w/E & N.
Wed: Go to Ocean Park with G, K, M, T and T.
Thu: Nothing!
Fri: Go to S’s house with basically everyone.
Sat: Go to B’s birthday party.
Sun: GO TO FRANCE!
But I’m looking forward to it

Lol Cats. Lol.
Anywho, I’m finally going to GET my passport tomorrow… So by like next year I can actually go somewhere, not that I definitely will or anything. I’m not much of a traveler, though I’d love to be.
OOoooooOoO. I was going to go watch Cats, but because of exams and me leaving Hong Kong so shortly after them it turned out that we couldn’t go. – Shame, I love the song “Memories”
And Phantom of the Opera is the best thing ever
Have you seen the hollywood movie? I can’t get enough of it!!
Hahhaa, whoops. I only read your first paragraph and then in your second you talk about the song I talked about ^^ Right, whoops “Memory” not “Memories” lol. I suck. Anyway, that’s so cool that they actually came right up to you guys.
HAHAHA. And then you talk about the movie!! WOW. We think alike. Haha. I’ve never been to see it performed on stage… So can’t help you there, sorry.
I saw it on MTV today and too be honest I don’t even like the song all that much… I was very disapointed: I usually like their stuff!!
Wow, you do have a busy week. Good luck getting all of that done!!
Yeah, I think I keep spelling “exactly” as “eggsactly” that when the time comes I actually have trouble spelling it correctly!! Haha, in exams and stuff, I seriously have to think about how to spell it.
I think I would be able to survive quarantine with just my computer & internet. No need for my iPod because all my songs are on my computer anyway
NO, NO, NO. I studied the day before my exams and I didn’t fail a single subject: all Cs and above. – Actually, only one C
HAHAH. So yay. You’ll do fine! Just, more revision means less freaking out on the actual day. If you don’t revise a lot you’ll be stood there outside the hall going “I SHOULD HAVE REVISED!! OH NO OH NO OH NO!!” – But you’ll be fine!
Well, have fun in Disneyland. One pointer: the food there is really expensive, so maybe eat out in the city? Because it’s cheaper there and seriously better quality.
Hahaha, I always see Gwai Los (lol) in Fo Tan that go to local schools. – I’m always like, “woah, skilzz!!” Haha. I’d love to speak Chinese, but yeah, it is seirously hard.
My mom das textile translations (as a job) and she finds it easier on a typewriter because she can translate directly onto the fax, near where the original English is. That’s why she has it
But yeah. I quite like her new one though because it has a backspace… I’ve always wondered how it works but yeah. You can only realistically backspace a letter once, because the second time it doesn’t work so well :/ but yeah!
True, but when you play the Sims in their own home you sometimes freeze time (right?) so that they don’t age and you can work up their skillz. But if you freeze time for your sim, all the other sims in town keep aging (apparently). So your teen boyfriend could turn into a grandpa… Lol. Ew.
1) Cats is brilliant. Saw it in London when I was eight though, so the plot is kind of fuzzy. The music = epic though!
2) The chandelier’s supposed to fall on your head depending on where you’re sitting
3) On your 21 Guns review: Personally, it didn’t under-perform, but that’s just me I guess.
4) Your list with the initials instead of the names? Don’t take this the wrong way, but the first thing I thought when I saw that was Gossip Girl ._. The books anyway.
xx
1) I know, it’s great! Apparently Cats is best on Broadway; Phantom is best in West End. There isn’t much of a plot for Cats.. most of it is just introducing characters and singing songs
2) I’m sitting in the Royal Circle (Dress Circle); I read some reviews about the seats being a bit small and some seats not getting the full view… Still, I’m looking forward to it
And HAHA, that would be awesome, the chandelier falling on my head!
3) Well, I had hiiiigh expectations; I suppose I’ll like the video after a while. I mean, the song IS great
4) I list with initials because I don’t want ANYONE discovering this place… perhaps I’m being paranoid but I don’t know. I didn’t put my name in About Me either.
xx
haha yes it’s a lot of sciences but I kinda of like science so I guess it’s alright. lol World History is only a grade 11 course so there isn’t a way could take it next year, unfortunately.
I’ve never seen a music before, but I’d like to. Have fun see Phantom of the OPERA. ahh so lucky.
lol you are quite busy aren’t you? Well that’s good, busy is usually a good thing. I’m soooo envious of your France trip. grr. lol then again ,i guess I can’t say much because my Europe trip is next year soo. hehe. Have fun~ (:
It was the kota kinabalu airport. thanks for saying that, some parts of my blog bore me to tears.
I love Memory! I love the Barbara Streisand version and the one sung by mezzo-sopranist Simone Simons. The lyrics are so…
I’ve watched neither Cats nor Phantom of the Opera. I live a sad, sad, life, enclosed in a box far, faaar away. I’ve never actually got the chance to see either.
Wow. Your week looks loaded. Mine is school, tuition, school, tuition. I emphasize once more my lacking of a life. You’re going to France! So lucky! I’ve never been to Europe, America, and pretty much the rest of the world.
Hope you have fun
